UK:RESISTANCE: SOMEONE IS “HAVING A LAUGH”
FWIW, I liked the sunny parts of Unleashed enough that I grinded through 10 werehog levels.  After that I gave up and returned the rental to Blockbuster.  If I can find level unlock codes somewhere, I would totally buy it used at GameStop.

Here’s hoping the episode focuses on the absurdity of abstinence oaths and not as much on the Jonas Brothers…

When I build / renovate / have a home, I will have the most amazing shower.  All of my best thinking is done under water.

Smart Switch

SmartSwitch prototype makes work out of the simplest of things

Useless b/c X11, etc. all suck.  Interesting that they utilize force feedback.  It seems to me that this isn’t clear enough, and will have difficulty in scaling to different types of users (children esp.), but it’s a novel use nonetheless.

Clips: 24 Solid State Drives Open ALL of Microsoft Office In .5 Seconds

The new computer I built for myself, and the doppelganger I built for Adam both have 2 RAID 0 striped SSDs as the system drive.  It is astounding how much faster programs launch and respond.  I’ve never looked back.

doubleTwist
This is the first media center I’ve seen that comes close to my dream media center.  What I want is something that integrates with a Facebook app, grabbing all my friends and their locations.  It would tag & scrobble all my motion media consumption and actively compare it to that of my friends, ideally integrating with my TIVO or cable-card as well.  Then, before I click on the next episode of The Wire or whathaveyou, I see a list of friends that are watching the wire, sorted by proximity: both physical location and location in the series.  Thus I avoid watching the new episode of “Heroes” without the rest of my roommates, as long as they are caught up with me.  The program would also let me know that if I wait for Andrew to finish watching 2 more episodes of Spectacular Spider-man, we can watch the next one together.  If multiple people are on the couch, they can sign in and the media center would have an option for only showing things we all have yet to see.
I want maximize my social media consumption: inviting friends over to watch media I would’ve otherwise consumed alone, invoking discussions with remote friends about media we’ve both recently consumed, etc.  Also it’s easy to imagine making a great recommendation engine once all that data is gathered.
